Confidentiality and Informed Consent

Joy Parenting Club

At Joy, your trust is the foundation of everything we build. Parenting is deeply personal, and we know you’re sharing moments, questions, and challenges that deserve care and protection. Whether you’re chatting with an AI expert, messaging your Parent Team, or connecting with a live coach, we’re committed to keeping your information safe, secure, and handled with the highest standards of privacy. We design every part of Joy—our technology, our expert training, and our internal policies—with your confidentiality and your family’s wellbeing at the center.

How Joy protects your privacy

  • Chat conversations, including any photos or videos you send, are securely stored and only accessible to you and qualified members of Joy’s expert team.

  • Joy’s privacy practices are clearly outlined in our policy here.

  • We use encryption for data in transit, and access is limited to qualified team members.

Informed consent

  • When you start using Joy On Call or chat with an expert, you’re implicitly agreeing to share data (text, media) so Joy can provide guidance.

  • Experts will advise within their scope of practice—they are coaches or consultants, not diagnosing medical conditions. It's important to not that Joy “is not a replacement for diagnostic or medical advice.”

  • If a situation is outside our scope (for example, medical risk), experts will recommend you consult a healthcare provider.

Your rights

  • You can request to delete your account and all associated data

  • You can ask questions about how your data is used and who on the Joy team can see it
